Cinema Italia!

The Germany-wide festival tour “Cinema! Italia!” presents an annual selection of films designed to showcase Italy’s artistically engaging, contemporary cinema.

In cooperation with CIMA e.V., the Moritzhof has been curating and presenting a local edition of the festival for years.

The local edition of Cinema Italia 2026, taking place from September 17 to 30 at the Moritzhof, is dedicated to contemporary Italian cinema. In addition to three films from the regular, nationwide “Cinema Italia” tour—“Life as an Adult” (“La vita da grandi”), “Three Goodbyes” (“Tre ciotole”), and “My Summer with Nonna” (“Gioia mia”)—the program features “Amore and Basta!” (“2 cuori e 2 capanne”), a lively and charming rom-com; “Diamanti,” a tribute to the beauty and quiet strength of female solidarity; and “Don Camillo & Peppone,” a classic of Italian cinema. All films are shown in the original Italian with German subtitles. Cinema Italia Magdeburg 2026, in cooperation with CIMA e.V., invites you to a cinematic journey through Italy—and buona visione!
