SchulKinoWochen
Vision Kino invites teachers and students to swap the classroom with the cinema room - every year in the third week of November. Around 66 venues in Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt are showing films for all grades in the mornings at a discounted admission price. These include brand-new films and classics, original language films, documentaries, animated films and short films. The Moritzhof has been the location of the Thüringen/Saxony-Anhalt SchulKinoWoche (School Cinema Week) since 2008.
Films take up a wide space in young people's everyday lives. But in order to be able to consciously perceive what has been seen and to integrate it into one's own horizon of experience, tools for film analysis are required. This includes knowledge of film language and film history as well as the connections between film production and time of creation. At special events, students can talk to filmmakers, actors and speakers. Vision Kino provides didactically prepared accompanying material free of charge to prepare and follow up your visit to the cinema in class.
Because just like reading books, watching movies needs to be learned. Then there can be as much learning material in the cinema as in an entire library.
The next edition of SchulKinoWoche Thüringen/Saxony-Anhalt will take place in November 2026. More coming soon on: www.schulkinowoche-th-st.de
