Anna Mateur, born in Dresden in 1977, studied music, though she would have preferred to apply for graphic design or acting. She brings together all forms of the arts in her performances. Since 2003, she has been touring the German-speaking world as a singer, lyricist, actress, and illustrator with her group “Anna Mateur and the Beuys.” She has received numerous awards for her work, including the 2008 German Cabaret Award, the 2009 Salzburg Stier, the 2010 Bavarian Cabaret Award, and the 2018 German Cabaret Award.
