Maria isn’t married yet, but she’s already bought a wedding dress for the occasion, and strictly speaking, she wasn’t a virgin anymore in her first show, “JUNGFRAU,” nor was she a “multiple virgin” in her second show, “MEHRJUNGFRAU.” Tradition dictates: Titles and reality are allowed to contradict each other. What is clear, however, is that many of Maria’s friends are getting married—and naturally, she wonders whether she wants that for herself or if the concept of marriage is now a bit outdated. Does she want to bring the state into the relationship, and what changes in the relationship when you’ve already been together for six years? Do you just have even less sex then?
Of course, it’s not just about marriage. The program is as thematically diverse as a buffet where no one knows what’s coming next, but everything is a hit. You might even stumble upon something unexpected, but that’s exactly what Maria wants. Pushing boundaries, tackling taboo topics. It gets feminist at times, embarrassing at others, and her own shortcomings don’t get left out either. All in Maria’s signature style: dry, crude, shameless, sometimes delightfully silly, and above all: funny.
