Young ARTists! #generations

Young people form a minority in our aging society and need the support of older generations to build a future worth living in. Educational and migration sociologist Aladin Al-Mafaalani and his co-authors come to this diagnosis in their book “Children — Minorities Without Protection”: The young ones should take responsibility for the baby-boom generation entering retirement age, but see themselves in their realities of life surrounded by permanent crises, educational inequality and the feeling of being overlooked by society. Politics is dominated by the interests of the older majority; children, on the other hand, barely have a lobby. Educational institutions are neither equipped nor prepared for the ever-increasing complexity and diversity of today's world. At the same time, however, the relationship between generations is better than ever before: Old and young often pull together! And this is exactly where we see great potential.

With the year-round cultural program Young ARTists! #generations we create a space for the needs of children, give young people a voice and bring different generations into (artistic) dialogue. Because the challenges of our complex society can only be overcome with the cooperation of all generations!
