KARAMBOLAGE IM FLIMMERZIMMER

Since 2004, the ARTE program *Karambolage* has taken a humorous look at everyday German and French culture: a word, an object, a custom, an onomatopoeia... Starting with a specific detail, the show analyzes, compares, and questions our unique traits and habits. How? Through short, informative, and funny animated films. And for over 20 years, the show has consistently ended with the now-iconic Karambolage riddle: “The following scene lasts 30 seconds. Where was it filmed? In Germany or in France?” The Karambolage team consists of Germans and French people—and since 2022, Spaniards as well, with the “Karambolage España” series, which takes a look at the big and small quirks of everyday Spanish culture. And since 2026, there’s been “Karambolage Polska,” in German, French, and Polish! From early June through late July, a different episode airs every week on Flimmerzimmer—complete with a riddle!
