Fun Facts Summer Tour with Arne Semsrott & Laura Braun
Facts don’t have it easy on social media. That’s where the Fun Facts Crew is happy to step in with a new, entertaining live news format that helps facts reach a wider audience through humor and celebrity involvement. Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are the focus of this special summer tour during the state election season, and the Fun Facts Crew stops wherever stories unfold—right among the local people. While public debates are often dominated by national political issues, many local stories, challenges, and ideas frequently go unnoticed. That’s exactly where Fun Facts comes in: What’s going well? What’s missing? What’s on people’s minds in their city? At each tour stop, a live recording of a regular episode is produced, featuring rotating hosts from the worlds of art, culture, music, and media, as well as people from the respective region. Well-known “fact fans” present what really matters in a humorous and constructive way. The hosts change daily, because Fun Facts is a collaborative project. With no broadcaster or corporate entity behind it, it was launched and is supported by the artists themselves. Instead of incitement, hypocrisy, and hate, Fun Facts offers humor, perspective, and dialogue. Research and journalistic analysis are conducted in cooperation with CORRECTIV.
An episode featuring Arne Semsrott is being recorded in Magdeburg. He is a political scientist, journalist, and activist, and heads the research and transparency platform FragDenStaat. In addition, he works with the Freiheitsfonds to secure the release of people from prison. His bestsellers *Machtübernahme* and *Gegenmacht* were published in 2024 and 2026, respectively. He prefers to read in libraries, if people let him.
Laura Braun will be our guest for the musical portion of the event. With her powerful voice and evocative piano playing, this multi-award-winning singer-songwriter tells stories full of emotion and passion—thought-provoking, poignant, and humorous.
The debut album (released on July 31, 2026), *VOM WEG AB*, explores not only the stagnation and perseverance during the pandemic, but an entire life that repeatedly takes detours into dead ends—yet also leads to undiscovered places. Guided by the belief that the stories worth telling are those that do not follow the paved paths of a concrete-bound society, but instead find their own.
